Brit Taylor, a singer/songwriter who was born in Kentucky, will shortly start touring and release new music, including her new single “Ain’t A Hard Livin’” on January 13 and her eagerly awaited sophomore album Kentucky Blue on February 3.

Kentucky Blue Tour

Taylor, a country musician, promises a 2023 packed with loads of new music and shows after a fruitful 2022.
“Ain’t A Hard Livin’” is a semi-autobiographical song with fiddles, real life, a dash of ’60s rock, and a healthy helping of country twang. It is the last pre-release of her eagerly awaited Kentucky Blue album, which was produced by Sturgill Simpson and David Ferguson. Then she will go on tour, performing Kentucky Blue for crowds all throughout the South as well as at this summer’s widely publicized Railbird Music Festival and Schellraiser Festival.

“I feel like 2022 has lasted about four years,” Taylor said.  “It’s been a lot of hard work, and I know the hardest work is just beginning.  In truth, the hardest part for me has just been the waiting.  I am so excited to finally release this new music. Sitting on it since we recorded it has been pure torture.  I can’t wait to get the music out there and hit the road!”

With her debut album Real Me, Taylor made her mark on the music industry in 2020. Since that time, both fans and reviewers have praised her work. She is building a solid basis for her music and career without slowing down.

Noteworthy events leading up to 2023

  • Three of her next album’s pre-releases earned overwhelmingly positive reviews and were added to popular playlists on all major streaming platforms. The cheerful song “Cabin In The Woods” with a hearty dose of swagger was debuted by Wide Open Country, along with its accompanying video. “Kentucky Blue,” the album’s lead single, came next. The Boot debuted the song’s music video, which was later released to positive reviews from publications including People. People all over the world joined in on the last pre-release, “Rich Little Girls,” which Whiskey Riff included on its list of the top Appalachian country songs currently being made. Taylor was cited as an emerging star.
  • The Boot described Taylor’s performance as “illustrating the artist’s exquisite songwriting talent and vivacious vocals that have her set for a bright, bright future” at the prestigious AMERICANAFEST in Nashville, where she was featured as an official artist.
  • Taylor was asked to open for Dwight Yoakam in Michigan, Kelsey Waldon, and Ian Noe after performing for Alabama last summer. In addition to opening for Blackberry Smoke at their sold-out performances throughout the East, she also headlined her own shows in New York, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania while on tour with them.
